Combe Hay, Somerset

Historical Description

Combe Hay or Combhay, a parish in Somerset, on the Fosse Way and the Radstock Canal, 4 miles SSW of Bath. Post town, Bath; money order and telegraph office, Bath. Acreage, 1054; population, 190. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Bath and Wells; value, £210. The church is good, and the churchyard contains the grave of the poet Can'ington, author of " Dartmoor."
