Historical Description

Chipstable, a parish in Somerset, near the verge of the county, 3½ miles WNW of Wiveliscombe, and 2 from Venn Cross station on the G.W.R. Post town, Wiveliscombe, which is the money order and telegraph office (R.S.O.) Acreage, 1936; population, 290. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Bath and Wells; net value, £230.
