Sheinton or Shineton, Shropshire

Historical Description

Sheinton or Shineton, a parish in Salop, on the river Severn, 1½ mile E of Cressage station on the Severn Valley branch of the G.W.R. and 3 miles N by W of Much Wen-lock. Post town, Shrewsbury; money order and telegraph office, Cressage. Acreage, 982; population, 114. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Lichfield; net value, £173 with residence. The church is ancient and was restored in 1854.
