Round Acton, Shropshire
Historical Description
Acton-Round or Round Acton, a township and a parish in Salop, 3 miles S by E of Much Wenlock, and 6½ WNW of Bridgnorth. Post town, Bridgnorth; money order and telegraph office, Much Wenlock. Acreage, 2245; population, 162. Lord Acton is lord of the manor and the principal landowner. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Hereford; net value, a£78. The church is ancient and cruciform, has a small tower, contains three fine monuments to the Acton family, and was restored in 1850. The Hall, which dates from Queen Anne's time, is now a farmhouse. The township includes the hamlet of Muckley,

Dedication unknown (parish church)
The church (dedication unknown) is an ancient building of stone in the Late Perpendicular style, consisting of chancel, nave, north transept, south porch and small western tower containing 2 bells: there is a marble tablet in the chancel to Sir Walter Acton, d. 1703; one in the nave to Sir Richard Acton bart. d. 20 Nov. 1791, and Lady Ann (Grey), his wife, d. 1784, and one in the transept to Sir Whitmore Acton bart. d. 17 Jan. 1732, and Dame Elizabeth (Gibbon), his wife, d. 1759: the church was restored about 1850 and has 120 sittings.
