Habberley, Shropshire

Historical Description

Habberley, a village, a township, and a parish in Salop, under Stiperstones Hill, 1½ mile S by E of Pontesbury station on the Shrewsbury and Minsterley branch of the L. & N.W.R. and G.W.R., and 8½ miles SW of Shrewsbury. Post town, Pontesbury, under Shrewsbury. Acreage, 804; population, 86. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Hereford; gross value, £101 with residence. The church is small, and was repaired in 1864.
