Finmere, Oxfordshire

Historical Description

Finmere, a parish in Oxfordshire, on the river Ouse, 1½ mile S from Fulwell station on the L. & N.W.R., and 4½ miles i SE of Brackley. It has a post office under Buckingham; money order and telegraph office, Tingewick. Acreage, 1570; population, 283. Finmere House is a chief residence. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Oxford; gross value, £370. The church is a building of stone in mixed styles.
