Pallinsburn, Northumberland

Historical Description

Pallinsburn, an estate taking its name from a brook that runs through it, in Ford parish, Northumberland, near the river Till and Flodden Field, 2½ miles E by S of Cornhill. It is said that the brook which bears the name of Pallinsburn was called after Paulinus, who baptised his Northumbrian converts here. Pallinsburn is the property of the Askew-Robertson family. The house stands in a park of 70 acres,. a little N of Flodden Field, where the famous battle was fought in 1513.
