Linmouth, a township in Woodhorn parish, Northumberland, on the coast, at the mouth of the river Line, 7 miles NE by E of Morpeth, and 1 mile from Newbiggin-by-the-Sea station on the N.E.R. Post town, Morpeth. Acreage, 342, besides 31 of foreshore; population, 10. Dunes or sand hills are 40 feet high.
