Denton, a parish in Northamptonshire, 3 miles front Horton station on the M.R., and 6 ESE from Northampton. It has a post office under Northampton; money order office,. Yardley Hastings; telegraph office, Castle Ashby. Acreage, 1555; population, 487. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Peterborough. Patron, the Marquis of Northampton. The church is a building of stone in the Gothic style, and there is a Baptist chapel.

The church of St. Margaret is an edifice of stone, in the Gothic style, consisting of chancel, nave, south porch and a small embattled western tower, with pinnacles, containing a clock and 3 bells; it was repaired in 1865, and has 200 sittings.
