Astrop, Northamptonshire
Historical Description
Astrop, a hamlet in Kings-Sutton and Newbottle parishes, Northampton, near the river Cherwell, 6 miles W of Brackley. A mineral spring here, called St Rumbald's well, was formerly much frequented for cutaneous diseases. Astrop House is a fine building of stone, standing in a park of 100 acres, and is the residence of the Brown family.
