Thurning, a parish in Norfolk, 2½ miles from Hindolvestone and Corpusty stations on the Midland and Great Northern Joint railway. Post town, East Dereham; telegraph office, Hindolvestone. Acreage, 1598; population, 160. Thurning Hall is the chief residence. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Norwich; net value, £260 with residence. Patron, Corpus Christi College, Cambridge. The church is a small building of flint in the Decorated style.
