Oxwick and Pattesley, Norfolk
Historical Description
Oxwick and Pattesley form one civil and two ecclesiastical parishes in Norfolk, 3½ miles S by W of Fakenham town station on the Midland and Great Northern Joint railway, and 3½ from Fakenham station on the G.E. R. Post town and telegraph office, Fakenham; money order office, Whissonsett. Acreage of the civil parish, 1058; population, 86; of the ecclesiastical parishes of Oxwich, 70; of Colkirk, 511 The living is a rectory, united with Colkirk, in the diocese of Norwich; joint net value, £530 with residence. The church is an ancient building of flint in the Gothic style, consisting of nave and chancel, with bell-turret. There was formerly a church at Pattesley, but it has long since disappeared.
