Kelling, Norfolk
Historical Description
Kelling, a village and a parish in Norfolk. The village stands 3 miles N by E from Holt station on the Midland and Great Northern Joint railway, and 9 W from Cromer, -and is situated in a deep vale extending from it 2 miles northward to the sea. Post town and money order and telegraph office, Holt (R.S.O.) The parish comprises 2327 acres; population, 228. About 800 acres were formerly heath, but more than half of this has been brought under cultivation. The living is a rectory, united with the rectory of Salthouse, in the diocese of Norwich; joint net value, £350 with resi-.dence. The church consists of nave and chancel, with a tower, and is in excellent repair.
