Fishley, Norfolk

Historical Description

Fishley, a parish in Norfolk, united with Upton in 1831 tfor civil purposes, bounded on the E by the river Bure, 1 mile 'from Acle station on the G.E.R., and 11 miles E of Norwich. Post town, Norwich; money order and telegraph office, Acle. Acreage of Upton with Fishley, 2171; population, 530; of the ecclesiastical parish of Fishley, 18. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Norwich; gross value, £126 with residence. The church is of flint with embattled round tower, in the Norman and Early English styles.
