Brisley, a parish in Norfolk, 3 miles W from Elmham station on the G.E.R., and 6 NW of East Dereham, under which it has a post office; money order and telegraph office, Elmham. Acreage, 1209, including about 180 of common; population of the civil parish, 317; of the ecclesiastical, with Gately, 472. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Norwich, with the vicarage of Gately annexed; net yearly value, £380 with residence. Patron, Christ's College, Cambridge. The church is a building of flint and stone in the Gothic style.
