Welton le Wold, Lincolnshire

Historical Description

Welton-le-Wold, a parish, with a village, in Lincolnshire, 4 miles W of Louth station on the G.N.R. It has a post office under Louth; money order and telegraph office, Loutli. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Lincoln; gross value, £280 with residence. Patron, the Lord Chancellor. The church was rebuilt, with the exception of the tower, and enlarged in 1849. There are Wesleyan and Methodist chapels.
