Churches

The church, in Chester street, erected in 1867, is a building of stone lined with red brick, in the Gothic style, and consisting of chancel, nave, aisles, north porch, north chapel and an incomplete south-east tower: the east window and others are stained: the interior of the church was renovated in 1910: there are 1,200 sittings.
