Grimston, a parish in Leicestershire, on the Wolds, 5 miles WNW from Melton Mowbray. It has a station on the Melton and Nottingham branch of the M.R. Post town and money order office, Melton Mowbray; telegraph office, at the railway station. Acreage, 1064; population of the civil parish, 1064; of the ecclesiastical, with Wartnaby, 286. The living is a vicarage, in union with Wartnaby, in the diocese of Peterborough; gross income, £107. Patron, the Vicar of Rothby. The church is an ancient building of stone, partly in the Early English style. There is a Wesleyan chapel.

Church of England
St. John (parish church)
The church of St. John is an ancient building of stone, partly in the Early English style, consisting of chancel, clerestoried nave, south transept, south porch and an embattled western tower, with pinnacles, containing a clock and 3 bells, two of which are respectively dated 1749 and 1780: the church was restored in 1866, and has 160 sittings: the roof fell in 1895, but was handsomely restored.
