Historical Description
Wuerdle-with-Wardle, formerly two hamlets and a township in the ancient parish of Rochdale, Lancashire. The former (Wuerdale) is now a ward of the county borough of Rochdale (population, 5440), and the latter (Wardle) a township and ecclesiastical parish in Lancashire (population,1840).
