Historical Description

Slyne-with-Hest, a township in Bolton-le-Sands parish, Lancashire, with a station at Hest Bank on the Lancaster and Carlisle railway, 3 miles NNW of Lancaster. It has post offices of the names of Slyne and Hest Bank, under Lancaster; money order and telegraph office, Bolton-le-Sands. Acreage, 1135 of land and 1914 of water and foreshore; population, 360. There is a parish council consisting of five members and a chairman. The manor belongs to the Greene family.
