Milstead, Kent
Historical Description
Milstead, a village and a parish in Kent. The village stands 3½ miles S of Sittingbourne station on the L.C. & D.R., and has a post office under Sittingbourne; money order and telegraph office, Doddington. Acreage of parish, 1226; population, 264. The manor belongs to the Tyiden family. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Canterbury; value, £170 with residence. The church is mainly Early English, includes Transition Norman portions, and is in good condition; it was restored and enlarged in 1872, and again restored in 1890.
