Bossenden, Kent

Historical Description

Bossenden, a wood 3¼ miles WNW of Canterbury, in Kent. Here John Nichols Tom of Truro, whom crowds from the neighbouring villages followed as a superhuman deliverer, under the name of " Sir William Courtenay, the knight of Malta" was shot, with eight of his followers.
