Wormsley or Wormesley, Herefordshire

Historical Description

Wormsley or Wormesley, a parish in Herefordshire, 3 miles NE of Moorhampton station on the Hereford, Hay, and Brecon section of the M.R, and 3 SE of Weobley. Post town, Weobley (RS.O.) Acreage, 1249; population, 85. An Angustinian priory was founded here in the time of King John. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of Hereford; gross value, £76. The church, a small ancient edifice, has been restored.
