West Tisted, Hampshire

Historical Description

Tisted, West, a parish in Hants, 3 miles from Ropley station on the L. & S.W.R. Post town, Alresford. Acreage, 2356; population, 187. The Elizabethan manor-house, of 16th-century date, the residence of the Tichbornes, is worthy of notice. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Winchester; gross value, £156 with residence. Patron, Magdalen College, Oxford. The church is an ancient building of flint in the Early English style.
