Steventon, Hampshire

Historical Description

Steventon, a parish in Hants, 3 miles from Oakley station on the L. & S.W.R., and 6½ SW of Basingstoke. It has a post office under Whitchurch; money order office, Overton; telegraph office, Oakley railway station. Acreage, 2155; population, 240. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Winchester; net value, £380 with residence. The church is ancient but good.
