Kilmeston, Hampshire

Historical Description

Kilmeston, a parish in Hants, 5 miles S of Alresford station on the L. & S.W.R. Post town, Alresford. Acreage, 1618; population of civil parish, 172; of the ecclesiastical, 308. Downs form part of the surface, and have some barrows. Dean House is the chief residence. The living is a vicarage annexed to that of Beauworth, in the diocese of Winchester; value, £230 with residence. Patron, the Crown. The church is small and ancient.
