Empshot, a parish in Hants, 3¼ miles NW of Liss station on the L. & S.W.R., and 7 SE by S of Alton. Post town, West Liss (S.O.) or Petersfield; money order and telegraph office, Liss. Acreage; 761; population, 153. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Winchester; net value, £85 with residence. The church is good.
