Quarrington Hill, Durham

Historical Description

Quarrington Hill, a populous colliery village in Cassop-cum-Quarrington township, Durham. The nearest station is Shincliffe, 2½ miles distant, on the N.E.R. It has a post and money order office under Coxhoe; telegraph office, Cox-hoe. The inhabitants are employed in East Hetton Colliery. There is a Primitive Methodist chapel.
