MINTERNE MAGNA, a village 2½ miles W. from Cerne and 10 N. from Dorchester, its Church is neat and is built in the Gothic style, the living is a rectory. The parish, with the hamlets of Lyon's gate and Middle Marsh, contained in 1841, 354 inhabitants.
