BURTON-BRADSTOCK, a village about 3 miles S.E. from Bridport, the river Bride or Bredy runs through this place; here is a flax and tow spinning mill employing many hands. The church is dedicated to St. Mary, the living being a rectory. The parish comprises 2260 acres and had in 1841, 1200. inhabitants. Post Office at Richard Hawkins. Letters arrive via Bridport at 9 a.m. and are despatched thereto at 4 p.m.
