Woolacombe Bay, Devon

Historical Description

Woolacombe Bay, in Devonshire, 1½ mile from Morthoe station on the L. & S.W.R. It has a post, money order, and telegraph office under Morthoe. It is fast becoming a favourite seaside resort, and is famous for its firm and broad sands, nearly 3 miles in length. A large hotel and several villas and lodging-houses have been built. There are a Congregational chapel and a lifeboat station.
