Newbridge (Dartmoor), Devon

Historical Description

Newbridge, a romantic spot in the E of Dartmouth, Devonshire, on the river Dart, 7½ miles NW of Ashburton. A bridge, from which it takes its name, is a picturesque structure, clothed with ivy, and the adjacent parts of the vale are deep ravine, flanked with schistose wooded crags.
