Holy Street, Devon

Historical Description

Holy Street, a hamlet on the NE border of Dartmoor, in Devonshire, on the river Teign, 1 mile W of Chagford. It is a romantic place, and is thought to have got its name from a Druidical road passing from the circle on Scorhill Down to the cromlech at Shilston.
