Historical Description
Exwick, a hamlet and an ecclesiastical parish in Devonshire, near the South Devon railway, 1 mile WNW of Exeter. It has a post and telegraph office under Exeter; money order office, Exeter. Population, 566. Exwick Hill is noted for its noble view of Exeter. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Exeter; net value, £277 with residence. The church was built in 1842, consists of nave and chancel, is in the Early English style, and has rich interior decorations; it was enlarged in 1873.
