The Rother, Derbyshire

Historical Description

Rother, The, a river of Derbyshire and W.R. Yorkshire, rising near Pilsley, in Derbyshire, and running about 21 miles northward, past Chesterfield, Staveley, and Beighton, to the river Don at Botherham. It is closely followed, along nearly all its course, by the railway from Derby to Rotherham.
