Strines, Derbyshire

Historical Description

Strines, a hamlet in New Mills township and ecclesiastical parish, Derbyshire, near the mutual border of Derbyshire and Cheshire, with a station on the Sheffield and Midland Joint railway, 2 miles SE of Marple. It has a post office under Stockport; money order and telegraph office, Disley. Calico printing is largely carried on.
