Historical Description

Duckmanton forms with Sutton a township and a parish in Derbyshire, 2 miles SSE of Staveley railway station, and 4 E of Chesterfield, with a post office under Chesterfield; money order and telegraph office and railway station at Bolsover. There are coal and iron works. The living is a rectory annexed to the rectory of Sutton, in the diocese of Southwell. The parish church is at Sutton; there is a chapel at Duckmanton on the site of the old parish church. See
