Historical Description
Cromford and Langley Mill Canal, a canal 14 miles 40 chains long in Derbyshire and Notts, extending from Cromford in the former county past Ambergate and through Butterley and Codnor Park to Langley Mill, where it joins the Erewash Canal, by which it connects with the river Trent. The canal, which includes four tunnels —one of which at Butterley is 1 mile 59 chains 5 yards long —is owned by the M.R. Company.
