Walla Crag, Cumberland

Historical Description

Walla Crag, an eminence on the E side of Derwent Water, in Cumberland, 2 miles SE of Keswick. It commands a brilliant view of the lake, and contains a hollow which gave refuge to the last Countess of Derwentwater at the time of her husband's capture. It was a favourite resort of Southey.
