Gatesgill, Cumberland

Historical Description

Gatesgill, a hamlet in Dalston parish, Cumberland, 3 miles from Dalston station on the Maryport and Carlisle railway, and 5 S of Carlisle. It forms part of the ecclesiastical parish of Eaughton Head. A church was built in 1869. The living is annexed to the vicarage of Eaughton Head, in the diocese of Carlisle.
