Dalehead, Cumberland

Historical Description

Dalehead, a place on the south border of Cumberland, adjacent to Thirlmere, 6 miles SSE of Keswick. It has a post and money order office under Grasmere (R.S.O.); telegraph office, Keswick. Dalehead Hall stands on the margin of Thirlmere, and Dalehead Mountain, with a small tarn, sends down a streamlet to the lake's head.
