Bout, Cumberland

Historical Description

Bout, a village in Eskdale, Cumberland, with a station on the Ravenglass and Eskdale line, 7 miles ENE of Ravenglass. It has three inns, and is in the vicinity of waterfalls and other attractions on the way up Eskdale to the mountain passes into Wastdale-Head, Langdale, and Duddon Vale.
