Newton-by-Daresbury, a village and a township in Runcorn parish, Cheshire, 2 miles SE of Preston Brook station on the L. & N.W.R., and 5 S of Warrington. Post town, Preston Brook. Acreage, 785; population, 185. The manor belongs to the Heron family. The Oaklands is the chief residence.
