Historical Description

Meolse, Great, a township in West Kirby parish, Cheshire, on the coast, 6½ miles W by N of Birkenhead. It has a station on the Wirral railway. Post town, Hoylake (S.O.) Acreage, 695, with 68 of adjacent foreshore and 1528 uf tidal water; population, 456.
