Historical Description
Stoke Goldington, a parish, with a village, in Bucks, 4¼ miles NW of Newport Pagnell, and 4 E from Olney station on the Bedford and Northampton branch of the M.R. It has a post office under Newport Pagnell; money order and telegraph office, Hanslope. Acreage, 2352; population of the civil parish, 767; of the ecclesiastical, with Gayhurst, 858. There is a parish council consisting of five members. The manor belongs to the Carlile family. The living is a rectory, annexed to Gayhurst, in the diocese of Oxford; joint net value, £234. The church is an ancient building of stone in the Early English style. There is a Congregational chapel and a village reading-room. The lawyer Coke was a resident.

St. Peter (parish church)
The church of St. Peter, seated on an acclivity, is an ancient edifice of stone, chiefly in the Early English style, and consisting of chancel, nave of six bays, aisles, south porch and a low embattled tower containing 5 bells: the south aisle extends to the entire length of the church, and there is a lofty chancel arch of the Decorated period: the nave arcades are Early English: in 1929 two sanctuary lamps were added in memory of William Steventon, a former schoolmaster here: there are 200 sittings.
