St. Mary, Old Alresford, Hampshire

Description

The church of St. Mary, rebuilt in 1753, is a structure of bricks and flint, consisting of chancel, nave, transept and a tall massive Western tower, containing a clock and 6 bells: there is a monument to Jane (Compton), d. 1757, 1st wife of Admiral Lord Rodney, who died in 1792 and was buried here: the church has about 250 sittings.
