The Holy Rood, Coombe Keynes, Dorset

Description

The parish church of the Holy Rood, rebuilt in 1860, is of stone, in the Early English style, and consists of chancel, nave, north porch and a low western tower containing 3 bells (one of which is dated 1599): the east window is stained and there is an ancient font, and a brass to Henry Budden, 1906: The church affords 124 sittings.

Church Records

The parish register of baptisms, marriages and burials begins in 1585. The original register books are now deposited with the Dorset Archives Service, but have been digitised by Ancestry.co.uk and made available on their site (subscription required).
