St. Michael, Over Compton, Dorset

Description

The parish church of St. Michael is a small building of stone in the Perpendicular style, consisting of chancel with chapel, nave, south porch, and an embattled western tower, containing a clock and 4 bells: the tower is 63 feet high, and is built of Ham Hill stone: the east window and three others are stained: there are 140 sittings.

Church Records

The parish register dates from the year 1626. The original register books are now deposited with the Dorset Archives Service, but have been digitised by Ancestry.co.uk and made available on their site (subscription required).
