St. Rumbald, Stoke Doyle, Northamptonshire
Description
The church of St. Rumbald is a plain building of stone, in the Classic style, erected in 1727, consisting of chancel with north chapel, nave and a western tower containing a clock and 5 bells: in the chapel is a monument, by Rysbrach, to Sir Edward Ward, knight, d. 1714; another to Hannah Palmer, d. 1628, and a small one of marble, by Chantrey, to Mrs. Frances Palmer Roberts, of Stoke, wife of a former rector, who died in 1819: there are sittings for 130 persons.
