St. John, Athelhampton, Dorset
Description
The parish church of St John, built in 1862 on a site presented by J. Wadham Floyer esq. is of stone in the Gothic style, and consists of chancel, nave, north porch and a western turret containing 2 bells: the east window and those on each side of the chancel are stained: there are 120 sittings.
Church Records
The parish register of baptisms, marriages and burials begins in 1692. The original register books are now deposited with the Dorset Archives Service, but have been digitised by Ancestry.co.uk and made available on their site (subscription required).
